Date:
Wednesday, 24 November, 2010
Time:
11:30 am – 12:30 pm
Venue:
Room 833, Ho Sin Hang Engineering Building The Chinese University of Hong Kong
Abstract:

In this talk, he will explain how R. Koetter and F. R. Kschischang using the idea of linear network coding to introduce the subspace network coding. He will talk about the possible generalization for networks with delays and cycles using module over rings, also talk about how cyclic convolutional codes can be used in this generalized framework.

Biography:

Fai-Lung Tsang studied mathematics in Hong Kong, Sydney, and the Netherlands. He received his PhD from the University of Groningen in 2008. His interest is in coding theory (in the broad sense) and vector bundles on curves.
